Welcome to Hounds Around Town
Based in Nova Scotia, our online dog boutique
has been serving customers around the world since July of 2003.
We are not a "bricks and mortar" business per se as
we have no physical storefront. We do however feel that we know
many of our customers personally as we are fortunate enough
to receive regular emails and pictures
from many of our customers.
We were one of the first online dog boutiques
in Canada, and the very first in the Maritimes. Whenever possible
we support Canadian products and companies.
We believe that form and function should not be
independent of one another and strive to carry products that
are practical yet esthetically appealing.
It is important to us to represent companies who
have extended good customer service to our company and who stand
behind their products, as we believe in quality in both service
and product. Personal service is the cornerstone of our company
as we are in business to make both you and your dog happy.
You will find products from the following companies
(and more) on our site:
Company Owner: Angela Granchelli
Almost ten years of retail management experience combined
with eight years of network/computer support provided
Angela with the perfect background for creating our web
boutique.
There is also of course a strong passion for our canine
friends. Angela has owned 3 dogs throughout her life,
her current love being a rescued Black Lab/Irish Setter
mix named Nelson. Several years
of obedience lessons and agility training provided the
opportunity to meet many breeds of dogs in person and
learn their characteristics, both physical and mental.
This opportunity has been invaluable in choosing and refining
the company product selection over the years. This ongoing
learning process is much more of a labor of love then
a job of course.
Angela is also the event coordinator for an annual animal
fundraiser, Ceilidh
for Critters and supports local rescue efforts whenever
possible. She also visits the local dog shows frequently
to stay current on trends and issues surrounding the CKC
and breed standards.
We call her the crazy dog lady! |
